Thanks for your interest in building awareness on the issues of fiscal responsibility. Budgetball is an active, strategic and fun way to introduce the concepts of managing debt and savings.
We hope that as you play Budgetball –you will also take time to engage in conversations about financial responsibility at the personal level; challenges for local and state governments; and/or our nation’s fiscal sustainability.
In addition, there are many great resources located on the Let's Get Fiscal Section of the Budgetball Website available to help you wrap Budgetball with the importance information related to our fiscal health and wellness.
If you'd like to play Budgetball, you don't need a lot of equipment. Here's a quick check list:
- Find a basketball court or similarly sized outdoor field you can use.
- Recruit anywhere between 8 to 20 people to play – tell half of them to wear white shirts!
- Divide into two teams.
- Print out:
- Grab a volleyball and go play!
Most of the Power-Ups and Sacrifices require no special equipment – you can just not use the ones that do, or you can bring a few things (a pair of oven mitts, three floppy hats, and a small round object – "the egg") and enjoy the fun!
