University of Miami Budgetball Tournament Draws Hundreds of Players
Over 300 students took their debt and savings strategies to the limit on Saturday April 18th, playing in a fun, fast-paced 32-team Budgetball tournament at the University of Miami.
Saving was the strategy of the day, as teams worked to amass Budgetbucks by taking sacrifices while still succeeding on the field. With contributions to student organizations and a trip to Washington DC on the line, the winning team was TheLaunchpad.org.
The winning team represented The Launch Pad, a career guidance center that provides resources to entrepreneurs and inventors at the University of Miami.
The team is also looking forward to playing Budgetball in Washington DC in mid-June, when the Peter G. Peterson Foundation and the National Academy of Public Administration team up to bring Budgetball to policy-makers in the nation’s capital.
Coming in second was Go Keynes!, who designated the University of Miami chapter of Engineers Without Borders as their prize recipient.
